This article explains how to restart your 5G ZTE MC888 router. Restarting your router can resolve common issues such as slow speeds, intermittent connectivity, or devices being unable to connect.
Option 1: Restart using a power cycle
- Unplug the power cable from the back of the router.
- Unplug the power adapter from the wall socket.
- Wait 3 to 5 minutes with both unplugged.
- Plug the power adapter back into the wall socket.
- Plug the power cable back into the router.
- Wait 3 to 5 minutes for the router to reboot and re-establish your internet connection.
- Check that the LED lights on the front of the router return to their normal state. See 5G ZTE MC888 router lights and interface for guidance on what each light means.
Option 2: Restart using the software interface
- Open your browser and enter http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar, then press Enter.
- Enter your login details and select Log In. The default password is printed on the sticker at the bottom of the router.
- Select Advanced Settings.
- Select Others.
- Select Restart.
- A confirmation prompt will appear. Select Restart to proceed.
- Select Yes to confirm.
The router will restart automatically. Allow 3 to 5 minutes for it to reboot and re-establish your internet connection.
Please note: A restart does not erase your settings. Your Wi-Fi name, password, and all custom configurations will remain unchanged.
