If your bill seems higher than expected, there are often perfectly sound reasons for that. It could be one-off charges that were agreed at point-of-sale or it is your first bill that includes a combination of features or usage costs.
One-Off Charges
You may have been billed for any one-off charges that were agreed at point-of-sale. Some of the one-off charges you could have been billed for include the following:
Router Postage
New Line
Restart or Renumber Charges
Engineer Fees
First Bill Charges
Your first bill may include a combination of features or usage costs that make it appear higher than your usual monthly bill.
Your Service Has Just Gone Live
The primary reason for the difference is that your services have only just gone live, and your first invoice includes a combination of rental billed in advance and usage billed in arrears.
Normally, rentals and features are billed in advance, and one-off events and usage are billed in arrears.
Charges on Your First Bill
Your first bill will cover the cost of your plan and any additional services, such as:
Your monthly plan charge: charged one month in advance from the activation date.
Add-ons: such as international minutes or call packages.
Device charges: if you pay an amount towards your device or a delivery charge.
Usage charges: billed in arrears from the date your service goes live.
