Setting a caller ID in the desktop app

Modified on Thu, 7 Nov at 8:04 AM

You can set a caller ID to display when making outgoing calls. Caller ID preferences are stored separately on each device. It means there's no synchronisation between mobile, web and desktop applications, so you'll need to set these preferences on each device. To set your caller ID on the mobile app, click here.

Choices are globally the same across a customer, except direct numbers that are based on the user:

  • Main number: Public number of the business, available to all users of a customer

  • Anonymous: Ability to make an anonymous call

  • Preset: Default option, which lets the system choose the caller ID based on outcalls’ rules

A caller ID lets you set your caller ID for a specific call you are making. This is useful in situations where you want to hide your phone number or present a different phone number for a specific call.

To set a caller ID via the quick call section:

  • Begin typing the phone number or extension code of the person you would like to call. Then, from the drop-down next to the number, set your caller ID preference.

To set a caller ID via the dialler:

  • From the dialler, before making your call, click the drop-down under 'Caller ID' to select your caller ID. Make use of the three-dot menu to set a specific caller ID as default.

To set a default caller ID via your settings:

  • From the main navigation, go to 'Settings'.

  • Click on 'Caller ID'.

  • Choose between the choices provided to set a default caller ID.
