Setting a caller ID in the desktop app

This article explains how to set your caller ID in the bOnline desktop app. Your caller ID is the number displayed to the person you are calling.

Caller ID preferences are stored separately on each device. There is no synchronisation between mobile and desktop, so you will need to set these preferences on each platform.

Caller ID Options

The following options are available across all users on your account, except direct numbers which are specific to each user:

  • Main number: The public number of your business, available to all users.
  • Anonymous: Hides your number when making outgoing calls.
  • Preset: The default option, which lets the system choose the caller ID based on your outgoing call rules.

You can set a caller ID for a specific call, which is useful when you want to hide your number or present a different number for that call.

Option A: Set Your Caller ID via the Quick Call Section

  1. Begin typing the phone number or extension code of the person you would like to call.
  2. From the drop-down next to the number, select your caller ID preference.

Option B: Set Your Caller ID via the Dialler

  1. Open the dialler in the bOnline desktop app.
  2. Click the drop-down under Caller ID to select your preference.
  3. Use the three-dot menu to set a specific caller ID as your default.

Option C: Set a Default Caller ID via Settings

  1. From the main navigation, go to Settings.
  2. Click Caller ID.
  3. Select from the options provided to set your default caller ID.
