1. Hardware Connections

Before you begin, place your device in a central, open location for the best Wi-Fi coverage.

TP-Link VX230 (Modem Router)

This model features a grey DSL port for standard copper or VDSL connections.

  1. DSL/Internet: Plug your phone line into the grey DSL port.
Note: If you have Fibre (FTTP/HFC), use an Ethernet cable to connect your NBN/Fibre box to the LAN4/WAN port instead.
  2. Power: Connect the power adapter and press the Power button.
  3. Wired Devices: Connect your PC to any of the orange LAN ports.
  4. Phone: If you have a VoIP landline service, plug your telephone into the green Phone port.

TP-Link EX230 (Wi-Fi Router)

This model does not have a DSL port; it relies on an existing Fibre/Cable modem or an Ethernet wall outlet.

  1. Internet (WAN): Connect an Ethernet cable from your Fibre ONT (the box on the wall) to the blue/labeled WAN port.
  2. Power: Plug in the power and switch it on.
  3. Wired Devices: Use the remaining orange LAN ports for wired computers or consoles.

2. Initial Software Setup

Once the hardware is powered on and the "Internet" light is stable, you can configure the network.

Method A: Using the Aginet App (Recommended)

  1. Download the TP-Link Aginet app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  2. Connect your smartphone to the default Wi-Fi (the Name/SSID and Password are on the sticker at the bottom of the device).
  3. Open the app and follow the step-by-step instructions to register your admin account and set your internet type (PPPoE, Dynamic IP, etc.).

Method B: Using a Web Browser

  1. Connect to the Wi-Fi or plug a PC into a LAN port.
  2. Open a browser and go to http://tplinkwifi.net/ (or 192.168.1.1 for VX230 / 192.168.0.1 for EX230).
  3. Create a Login Password: You will be prompted to create a new password for the router's management.
  4. Quick Setup Wizard:
  • Time ZoneSelect your region.
  • Connection Type: Usually PPPoE (requires a username/password from your ISP) or Dynamic IP (common for HFC/Cable).
  • Wi-Fi Settings: Set your own Network Name (SSID) and Password.
