Hardware Drop-outs

Modified on Tue, 31 Oct, 2023 at 5:55 AM

Why does my hardware keep going in and out of service?

When your hardware device loses internet connection it drops out and losses service.

Different brands of models have different configurations to handle these dropouts.

In some instances, the internet is down for an extended period of time and the device stops provisioning after a certain amount of attempts.

How do I get my device back in service?

In most cases rebooting the device will resolve the issue. You can completely unplug the device for about 15 seconds and reconnect it.

If this does not work you would need to contact customer service to reprovision the device.

How can I prevent this from happening?

Ensuring that you have a stable internet connection is the best way to prevent this from happening.

Some other measures that can be taken would be to assign a static DHCP to your device.

Customers who do not have BB with bOnline need to contact their ISP.

If the BB is with bOnline you can follow these steps.

1.Log into the customer’s router

Username: supervisor

Password: superB0nline

2. Click on the Menu option and go to Network Setting -> Home Networking

Go to the Static DHCP option and click Static DHCP Configuration

Activate the configuration and select the Device from the Device Info drop-down and click OK.
